Evaluation.

WEDNESDAY 29TH MAY 2013

Overall, i enjoyed this project yet which we had more time to collect more styling and clothing. I was really happy with my outcomes from the classic shoot and think they are really strong as the location and styling compliment each other well. however the indian theme shoot lacked in comparison. i feel i should have co-ordinated the make up with much lighter tones to pick up the vibrancy of location and styling when on an outdoor shoot, as i have to remember there is only natural light surrounding. also if i were to do different i would perhaps do the indian shoot in a more appropriate location, perhaps a beach?

I enjoyed looking into more designers and widening my knowledge, as well as learning the basics of fashion from lectures previous etc.

a downside i feel on my outcomes, was the coloured tones of how my final A3 prints came out, the toning came out very bright and some parts are over exposed on my models body, taking away detail even though i set the colours on photoshop to the correct tones. yet, this is lesson learnt to perhaps test prints out before hand.

Final Photographs.

WEDNESDAY 29TH MAY 2013

for my classic photoshoot i was really impressed with the outcomes, there were many strong shots. i chose this particular image as i felt it stood out when i was shooting as well as when editing, i think the composition is really complimentary.

the indian shoot however, did not compliment the location as much as the classic, also i felt the photos were not as strong, however i did really like the composition of this image but perhaps needed more detail in the face etc to make it stand out as it mainly the neon orange which does this.

Photoshoot.

SATURDAY 25TH MAY 2013

after all the preparation the day arrived of the photoshoot with the weather being better then it hoped after it pouring down with the yesterday! surprisingly everything ran smoothly for the shoot, with hair and make-up as well as the models looking amaze. if i had to improve on one thing, i probably would have lighten up the indian make up more as from afar i felt it looked to dark when editing.

Photoshoot Prep.

FRIDAY 24TH MAY 2013

LOCATION

for the location scene for my photoshoot i have decided to set it in a grassy meadow field, covered in daisys as it works in theme with my classic image. i am doing it locally and depended on the sunny weather. with the background being sunny and bright it will compliment the 'spring summer' look the collection represents.

STYLING

for my classic photoshoot, i am simply using a nautical striped top and red tartan skirt from topshop teamed with black patent DM's. for accessories  i will simply add a daisy floral crown and rings aswell as some round tortoise shell sunglasses.

for my indian shoot, i am going to add a black high waisted bikini underneath and wrap round and pin in a draped dress style a piece of neon orange fabric, cinched in with a black belt round the waist. this bright colour should compliment the models skin perfectly. i will then accessorize with lots of gold rings and bracelets aswell as a dark turban which i shall attach a earring to, too give more of an indian ethnic feel.

MAKE-UP

the classic shoot will be completely natuaral as i want my model to represent jean paul gaultier in the pieree de gilles design. the models hair will also be slick back like a mans with her floral crown placed on top. simple as the concentration will be on the outfit.

the indian shoot will consist of dark eyebrows and make up aswell as bright lipstick. the models hair will be natural and wavy. then to remind of the s/s 13 jpg couture collection, i will have the models hands and feet painted blue.

Fashion Environment Idea Development.

SUNDAY 19TH MAY 2013

after researching the latest collections and also pierre de gilles i have come up with a concept of having one photoshoot based around the classic ideas of jpg, he's stereotypical look with a natural blonde model, representing gaultier himself and also similar to his ready to wear collection. then for the other photoshoot (as we have to do two outfit shoots) i will do one inspired by Indian themes, and also those of pierre de gilles regarding the extreme make up and over excessive accessories. this will create two juxtaposing styles and model looks but i will shoot in the same location so they have some similarity when being paired next to each other. this also connects with jpg's latest collections for s/s.

Pierre De Gilles.

THURSDAY 16TH MAY 2013

after gaultiers indian influence for his latest collection i was advised to look into pierre de gilles and how he's over dramatic and humourous side of similar of those to jpg. after looking over various books, i identified pierre de gilles work is very over the top yet very intrested to look at. he gets pieces and then replicats them with a humourous side, something which i am looking into for my photoshoot. there is pieces of the french artists i have picked out that have really inspired me for styling and direction.

the first two images are very indian influenced, with the styling etc and the last image which was originally made for gaultier is something i would like to recreate with my images, perhaps having daisy's for the theme.

WEDNESDAY 10TH MAY 2013

the haute couture spring summer collection for the jean paul gaultier fashion house was incredibly influenced by India  through the powerful jewel colours, traditional painted feet and patterns. the catwalk location and settings etc were surrounded with moroon lighting and flowing sheers of fabrics aswell tradional inidan music. the catwalk was also ended with 4 young indian girls presenting the stage with laughter and charm.
